On Arany János Dormitory

The Arany János Dorm is one of the best known and most reliable local accommodation options, especially for those studying at the Christian University of Partium. The dormitory is located on the other side of the road from the university; it is financially convenient for the students, and has a canteen with a varied menu, five days a week.

I have been living in this institution for three years now, and I can only say that it was the best decision of my life to choose the dormitory instead of renting an apartment when I first moved to Oradea. The building is well equipped, the apartments are equipped with separate toilets and showers, and the rooms are spacious and well heated. The atmosphere is like living in a building with a big family; everyone is friendly, understanding, and helpful. Best of all, if you have any problems, someone from the residents will be able to help. Of course, like in any other similar facility, there are rules, and if you break them, you will be warned, but still, if you behave yourself, your time in the dormitory is like a vacation.

At first, when I was new to this environment, I was afraid to leave my room unless I had to, but thanks to the kindness and understanding of the people here, I was able to let go of those fears and become part of this community. I have been living here for almost three years now and during this time, I have had the opportunity to meet many interesting people from other cities and even other countries, as there are also exchange students who come here mainly from Turkey, through the Erasmus programme. I have also managed to make a few lifelong friends.

I have had the best three years of my life here, and I am sure I am not the only one. Many of the former residents still return from time to time for a bit of nostalgia. If you are just starting university or are a returning student looking for a place to live, then the Arany János Dorm in Oradea is the place for you, where a great group with a family-like atmosphere awaits you with open arms.
